K.S.Bhavani Shankar, born on 16th October 1965, at Mangalore, India to legendary bharatanatyam dancerKarnataaka Kalashree Guru K. Shiva Rao and Smt. Padmavathi S. Rao.
Bhavani's Mridangam training began under Sri. R. Srivasan and the able guidance of M. Vasudev Rao. Later the legendary Padma Vibushan K. Sivaraman.
He completer his primary education at Saraswathi Tutorial Institute in Chicklalbagh-Balepet, Bengaluru. Secondary eduaction at National HIgh School, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru. And further pursued B Sc at National College.
